A Letter & Welcome From Our Chair
Ossining is a Town well known for its diversity.
Our residents include the Daughters of the American Revolution, the sons and daughters of the last century’s immigrants, and residents who have recently joined our community. Ossining residents come from every ethnic and religious group. We have in our Town the captains of industry, blue collar workers, artists, business owners, educators, and the working class. Our properties include everything from the country estate of the late Brooke Astor, to more modest homes, condominiums and apartments. I believe that this diversity is our strength.
That is one of the many reasons why Westchester magazine recently named Ossining the second most desirable community in all of Westchester. The Town of Ossining Democratic Committee is committed to representing all of its residents — no matter their means, their background or their affiliations. Our Committee embodies this spirit.
While everyone knows Westchester’s taxes are high, here in Ossining, we have some of the lowest taxes in the County. Our local elected officials all work hard together to ensure that our taxpayers get the most for every dollar they pay in taxes and do all they can to keep your taxes as low as possible. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring that the most vulnerable among us – our children, our seniors, our poor - do not fall through the social safety net that ensures that all people can live in Ossining with dignity, and raise their families in our community.
If these ideals appeal to you, and you want to be a part of our Committee, I invite you to come to our meetings and tell us your ideas to further our shared goals. As Chair, I encourage anyone who wants to get more involved in their local community to become active and join us. Please browse our newly launched and designed website and thank you for visiting with us.
